Salute to Kenny

Post by Jost Kidding »

I first heard of Kenny Chesney when he married Renee Zellweger. I learned about his ties to St John as I started planning my first trip there last year. I didn't start listening to Kenny until after his recent 60 minutes interview, which I found captivating. I know some here are fans and some are not. Some think he draws too much attention to the island. I have downloaded every KC album on to my MP3 player and it's the only way I make it through each dreary work day. Hearing him sing about St John helps me have many little escapes during the day. I just bought tickets to see him in Dallas and can't wait! 8)

I will say I was kind of indifferent to Kenny from the get go. I do like a few of his songs because they just remind me so much of being there. It used to sort of like be a insider's thing.

I did catch the interview on 60 minutes and found myself warming even more to him. Could just be that I really like Anderson Cooper :)

I downloaded some of Kenny's songs after the 60 minutes interview and the discussion here. I was listening to Kenny and JB on the plane to Dulles this evening to help get me in the island mood (like i really need help! :) ).

Kenny... if you're listening, good stuff! If you're on the island next week I'll buy you a beer (or three :) )

Time to start working on convincing the wife that we have to go back soon!

Kenny will be at Country Thunder in Wisconsin July 18-22. I live 3 miles from there. I probably won't go to the concert, but if anyone will be in town maybe we all could meet for a beer at a local tavern. :)

I don't think it will be a surprise to anyone here to hear that I'm a huge Kenny fan.

I too, started listening to his music because of the St. John connection, and last summer was lucky enough to see him in concert. (a 10 hour dive from home to boot!)

I'm going to Foxboro, again this July, with Hubby in tow. What a good sport! We are going to get the full experience this year with a full day of tailgating before the concert.

Kenny songs make up about 80% of the music on my ipod.

He just gets IT :!:

Is anyone from this forum planning on seeing Kenny in Tampa on June 2? My husband is sending my sister and I down for the weekend, and a couple of our friends are going too. We are also looking forward to the tailgating!!

I'm coming to Foxboro with 2 friends, just to sitesee and see Kenny, of course. I'm a fan, too...you'll have to come by our tailgate party..there really are NO tailgate parties like Kenny's.

My take from some of the locals during our last trip was that when KC plays on the Island, he does rock n roll, which apparently he loves and the country stuff butters his bread and keeps him in Peter Bay.
