Wild Jasmine

Post by Babs »

It has been a few weeks since we stayed at this villa, but I didn't want time to pass without commenting on the greatness of this villa. It is at the East End of the island (next to Sloop Jones). We would definitely stay there again. It is actually 2 pods connected by a pool. One pod has 2 bedrooms with kitchen, dining and living room and the other pod has 3 bedrooms for a total of 5 bedrooms and 4 baths. The 2 wrap-around decks were awesome and we spent every minute and every meal out on the decks, especially after dinner with a few drinks and watching the shooting stars...it was heaven! The villa was perfect and the property manager was extremely helpful. The property is beautiful and there is nothing that we could think of that wasnt available to us there. There were 6 of us staying there and we had plenty of space to hang together or for some privacy too. It did take some getting use to being so far out and away from everything but we would definitely stay there again. The owners spared no expense in renovating and maintaining this property.

Just FYI. Rented from John at Dawn's Beach in St. Maartin in 2005 and had a wonderful experience. This was our first villa vacation rental and we won't go back to the hotel experience thanks to him, his beautiful villa and the wonderful staff.

I was checking out the ski loges in Stowe, VT they had. Those are beautiful places for a ski getaway. They're right in my backyard...sort of. I used to live in Stowe many moons ago...

Hi Cid, I'm from Stowe but live in NC now. Just saw your post. I had the best summer, spent 3 weeks in Stowe, then 3 weeks in St. John. Overwhelmingly beautiful in different ways, yet in many ways the same. Beach Bar is a little like Matterhown south to me. Hope you get a little more summer left in VT now that the weather finaly realized what season it was supposed to be!

Its funny you said that about the Matterhorn and the Beach Bar. I thought the same thing. The vibe in St J and Stowe have a lot of similarities. Of course they never see -30 below on St.J, but I'm pretty sure we're safe from any hurricane activity.

How about this analogy...Stowe is like St Thomas, and St John is like Smugglers Notch. Awesome skiing without the ritz of Stowe....and despite it's proximity. You can't get there from here... Hehehehehehee.

And yes...our 3 weeks of summer is finally under way!
