Watching NFL games on my laptop

Post by Pete (Mr. Marcia) »

Does anyone know of a software that will allow me to watch NFL games on my laptop (mac)? I am a Bears fan stuck in Packer land and I would love to be able to watch the Bears games. But, they never are on broadcast TV. Thanks.

Do you want to see them live? Or would a TV capture download do?

Live would be best, but I would settle for anything. Any ideas?

None that are free or legal.

NFL does not offer streaming of the games. but I think you can buy a Sunday Ticket from DirectTV and stream on your computer...to the tune of like $120.

Or you can simply go to a Bittorrent site like mininova.org and download the game after it is played and watch it. Most game are HiDef and come out the day after it is played. Size is 1.5 to 2.5GB per game, so have High Speed internet. There are also private Bitorrent tracker that have them, and I can provide URL's in a PM if you are interested.

Good call, Wakey. I stumbled on Justin.tv and was able to watch the Bears tonight. (They looked good, too.)

Thanks for the offer, but I'm taking a year off from fantasy FB. I even quit my long-time league. Just need a break.

Direct TV charges $300 for the Sunday Ticket and then an additional $100 for the service to stream to your computer. I love the Bears, but $400 is a bit high.

Just gotta say....We Got Cutler....GO BEARS!

And thats the only way we watch our Bears....NFL Sunday ticket. Actually switched from cable which was actually pretty good for a cable company to directv for that purpose! They do offer promos that if you pay for NFL sunday ticket they give you 5 months of their premium tv service for free once you switch. Then the following years you will pay a cheaper rate than $400. I think we pay $340 or something like that.

Bears looked great the other night. I cannot wait for regular season to start up. We got high hopes this year :D :D

Just gotta say...We Got Favre...Go Vikes!

Schnell...I'm a die-hard Vikes fan. I have a love/hate relationship with my NFC North brothers. I like all the teams in the division to some degree. Cutler was a huge upgrade. Orton...that's like trading State's Ave for Park Place! What was Denver thinking? We could have gave them a good deal on T-Jack....

I think the Pack is better off without Favre. I was watching them the other night and people forget, Aaron Rodgers is no slouch.

I bet my son five bucks last night that Detroit will win 8 games. He said two...I might be optimistic, but I think they'll be ok.

It should be a wild season in the frigid NFC North. I wish the Vikes still played at the old Met....Heheheheee!

Last game I attended was Bears 48 Vikings 41. :)

That was a great game ifloat....last year wasn't it? Hugely entertaining game at Soldier. Last week against the Giants was nice too. Hope we can play a full game like we played a half. We should do well this year if they play like that!

Who is this Favre guy the media is obsessed with? Isn't he a tad old to be playing football?

Can't wait for Favre to roll into Soldier field in late december and its 12 degrees and the snow is coming off the lake....now thats football  Not that dome your boys play in. Favre has to make it to that point in the season though and his record at the dome is not a good one. I'm banking Sage will be the qb at the end of the season for the vikes! Either due to loosing or injury

This sunday night should be a fun one to watch too. Cutler returns to the scene of the crime....hopefully he can mop the floor with McDaniels team.

Your right though, NFC north should be very, very interesting this year. 3 pretty solid teams and then Detroit.....and I'm thinking 8 wins might be a bit optimistic
