Remote wave-measuring buoys

Post by sapphirecat »

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? There are some buoys near the USVI that transmit wave activity information. There were /are two sites where you can find the info. Would someone please give me the url(s)?

Thank you!

You can find the 3 closest ocean buoys at :
www.weathercarib.com
they are S - N and E in the order they appear on that site and easily located by lat/lon as well.

I have tried to figure where those three buoys you mentioned are located...where is #41044?

also wondered how the North Shore waves looked today...

here is the graph for #41044

According to the buoy map at NOAA, it appears that 41043 is about 175 miles north of the BVI's and 41044 about 400 miles east north east of 41043 if I'm reading the legend right.[/u]
