Ok, another fashion question for the ladies

Post by canucknyc »

Been loving all the posts on the cover-up thread! Have to admit, my visa has gotten a workout

Now I'm looking for a fun new beach tote. I've been eyeing the ones at Old Navy, but would love to hear any suggestions!!

LL Bean! They are classic & wonderfully made.

I prefer a zip top to keep sand out and prevent things from spilling out- but everyone has different needs and Bean certainly has a variety to suit all.

Land's End has quite a selection. They have all colors, fabrics, and styles. Nothing too trendy, but they get the job done!

Good luck with your search. Let us know if you find a good buy!

LL Bean allows you to custom make your own beach tote and I think the end result is awesome:

Flip flop turned me on to this and not only is it fun customizing but you get exactly what you want!

They also have some pretty decent standard totes taht are extremely durable.

If you want a STJ souvenir there's also a canvas shop at Mongoose which does nice totes, but I find them to be a bit pricey for what they are.
*Another fine scatterbrained production

I 2nd the LL Bean suggestion. Very durable, roomy and I personally love the extra long straps. Makes it very easy to lug all the stuff you need for the beach. I have the zip top boat and tote with extra long straps and LOVE it. And they aren't that expensive considering the quality.

Great ideas here! LOVE the LeSportSac ones, but sadly, they're too $$$ for the amount I'll use it. Right now I'm leaning towards designing my own at llbean.com... or perhaps I'll go to Target and see what they have (shucks, darn, a trip to Target? ) I see online that they have some fun ones...

I love those LeSportSac ones too!!
Canuck, I was at Target the other day, and they DID have some cute, fun bags! I had to restrain myself . . . I have more than I need already. I actually found my favorite one at TJMaxx.

CanuckNYC,
Good luck tomorrow at TJMaxx!! I found some cute coverups there, too.
I can't help but notice how similar our countdowns are! We must be on island at the same time!

I will throw in for the LL Bean boat & tote (lands end sells basically the same thing)

The downside is the canvas is rather stiff and sort of heavy when compared to nylon bags.

The upside is the bags are extremely durable and useful. Zip-top is the way to go. We have checked the bag on many occasions. I use it year-round for toting stuff back and forth from the car, holidays, liquor store, etc.

I throw it in the washer once and a while. 10+ years old and still going strong.

I have to jump on the LL Bean bandwagon.

The Ziptop tote is perfect. I use it as a carry on and then use it as a beach tote.

You guys are killing me with the fashion threads. Looks like I'm in good company. I just got this Live Your Life tote on Saturday. It's a beach tote but a little on the smaller side. They have it in yellow, green, brown and orange. I got the yellow. It screamed Caribbean bag at me. I love it!!!
