If you are beach people you will love St. John. More beaches than you can visit in a week. The snorkeling is great. Of course you need to rent a car and explore all the beaches you can.

Welcome to the forum :) I would say you need to book your car NOW if you have not done so already.

Welcome, I am fairly new here myself. I found reading through trip reports really helps. It give you a flavor at what is available at the beach and many times pictures are included. I stayed on St Thomas, but when we went to St John, I know what beaches I wanted to visit based on folks reports and pictures. The beaches are awesome! Have a great time!

Hello again, Been off for awhile. Busy end of summer.

Thank you for the warm welcomes.

Well, our jeep is rented (by the villa management, which was a pleasant surprise & good thing went to her to ask for suggestions of which place to go to! or would have been renting 2 jeeps!) and our flight is booked. So now just have to read all the forums and be patient.

Got Feet, Fins & Four Wheel Drive and St John Off the Beaten Track books and am enjoying every page of both books. What a wealth of info and tips and pretty pics of St John. Plus alot of history added in.

With these books and the great tips from the forums,we'll be feeling like pros when get there.

Thank you, we're renting "Just Enough" in Coral Bay, @ 100' up the side of the mt. A very simple Caribbean looking cottage, 2 story - w/wrap around decks on both levels. Found it on VRBO # 51729.
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, very busy August for us.

Where in NJ do you come from?

We will be neighbors as I live next door :) (but you can't see us as there are alot of trees in the way) Hopefully my "girls" (dogs) will be good - you may hear them at times, but I promise they don't bark before 11am as we hike daily or late at night - well unless there are donkey's in our driveway :)
