I am in the same boat Next April - solo trip. At first my family was going to go with, but it turns out they are fun-suckers. If they drained the fun out of the planning, I was not about to take a chance on them draining the fun out of the trip!

I know that feeling. I'm kinda glad that my one co-worker won't go with. I may have had to drown her.
She really knows how to suck the fun out something. But then she is single and doesn't have a family so she has the money to go. All I know is that if I don't have a break before classes start 1/19/10 I will be sitting in a padded room. If I have to go solo, so be it.

Oh yah, you can do a solo trip and make it a great trip.

I bet if you title a post (solo traveller looking for travel partner) or something to that effect that you'll find some takers.

I did it solo for 2 weeks in Feb. Did one off-Island trip each week (Virgin Gorda & Jost), in to town for dinner and hanging out at the Quiet Mon. I wasn't too lonely except for the lack of night-life (not too keen on doing that solo).

So for all you couples and groups out there when you see a solo traveller or diner strike up a conversation because that solo traveller will appreciate the conversation.

I will vouch for Chris. She is a super-awesome traveling companion who will go halfers on a deli grotto sandwich and get you a beer at Woody's.

I wish she could come with us, but we can't get them to move 8 Tuff Miles (I downloaded training podcasts today!), and she can't get her professors to budge on her schedule.

Next year: you, me, hurricane season?
