Villa Olga on St Thomas

Post by cjroyer »

Hi everyone.....we are on island 11/7 to 11/14 but are staying our first night (11/6) at Villa Olga on St Thomas. I've just been reading some recent reviews on Trip Advisor and they're not sounding so good. Has anyone stayed here lately? I'm wondering if they've let things get pretty bad in the 4 months since we booked it. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

I stopped by there 2 or 3 weeks ago to visit with a friend who was staying there - it seemed fine - the pool was nice-- their room was basic, but clean with a Great View - free wifi - looked good to me and my friend didn't voice any complaints - it is a convenient spot with Frenchtown a 1 minute walk away.

My family stayed there for one night in June. It's fine.

As someone else said on this board a while back, you just have to expect Motel 6 -- not the Ritz. Clean and comfortable accommodations, but not fancy. The manager (Jill - ??) is a delight, and very helpful. Several excellent restaurants in the immediate neighborhood and, if you have time, you can walk to the shopping area of Charlotte Amalie.

Have fun.

Sorry to say, but my MIL stayed there one night in June and HATED it - had to change rooms 3 times due to problems but I would think (or like to think) that was a fluke as I had read good reports
