I've always wondered if the "island corruption" thing was just a stereotype or a reality. I guess that story tips the scales a bit....

It's a reality Cid. Unfortunately. But there's corruption in many police departments....

What I think is most notable in this article is the attitude of the acting Commissioner, Francis. There are two quotes near the end of the article that are quite unlike any other commissioner has said. He is acknowledging a problem and tackling it despite how "uncomfortable" it might be. I have been impressed with the testimony that he has given as seen on our local government TV channel.
