September St John?

Post by Lisa&Jeff »

Hello everyone! We are new to this site but have enjoyed all the information here. It is great. :D

My husband and I, our 19 month old daughter and our mother in law are traveling to St John, Sept 5-12. Anyone been to St John in Sept? Weather? Restaurants closed? Other helpful info about St John in Sept?

We are staying at Pink Conch. First time St John as destination. Took a day trip from STT back in 2003. Can't wait!! Thanks !!

For Restaurant closings check here:

Weather: Nice, as always.
Kind of the beginning of things slowing down a bit on Island.

Kirk,
We will also be on St. John from Sept. 5-12 and are staying out towards Coral Bay. From your list attached it looks as if alot of the places out there will be closed. Can you give some recommendations on dining out there that would be open?
Thanks,
Chip

There are more closures than normal this year. La Plancha should still be open and is our new favorite. The Beach Bar is a favorite for quick bites. Roma should be open as well and is a local favorite.

Thanks -- looks like both LaPlancha and Cafe Roma will be open according to Ruth's list. Do you know about Asolare? Looking for place to have nice dinner with hubby to celebrate my 40th birthday (but leave daughter and Grandma at the Villa). If you could only do one special dinner (food, atmosphere), where would you choose to go?

This is in response to ChipN's ? re: what will be open out in Coral Bay in September. Looks like you'll only have 2 choices: Island Blues and the Tourist Trap. Haven't been out to Coral Bay since the Tourist Trap opened; not quite sure if it's a deli or what (I'm sure others on the forum can shed light). So, pickin's are a bit slim...

We will be there as well (9/9 - 9/14)hanging out in Coral Bay. Maybe there should be a Coral Bay forum gathering :D Island Blues is a great place, Tourist Trap was surprisingly good when we were there (mostly sandwiches). Not sure, but Aqua Bistro and Big Belly Deli at Cocoloba might be open. I also heard the BBQ stand at the corner of the two roads at the ballfields was really good.
