Week before Thanksgiving questions...

Post by augie »

Despite overwhelming odds against it, there's a *glimmer* of hope that we may be able to make a visit to STJ this year after all!

One of the most likely windows of opportunity for us would be from Nov. 15-22, which is the week before Thanksgiving.

Is this still considered the slow season? The reason I ask is because if we do manage to go, we'll be on a much tighter budget than on our previous trips. Economy, new kid in college, blah, blah, blah - but it is what it is.

It comes down to we'd rather be able to spend a week in paradise, even without all of the frills, than missing it all together.

This still isn't a slam dunk by any means, but if we can manage to find reasonable accommodations, etc., it just might happen - and I can change my woeful signature!
Come see us!

I would think so as it's not the holiday week (right?) and it is not high season (12/15 for most rental agencies).

Agree with Mary Beth; off-season goes until mid-December, with a few exceptions.

We are renting a 1BR at Grande Bay for the beginning of that week for $195.

Check Sailview; it runs ~800 for a week.

Good luck! But I have enjoyed reading your woeful tickers.

Augie....we usually stay in a villa on STJ..but we are like y'all: working in a trip in November on a "bare budget" means.
We are staying in Cruz Views....after alot of great reviews from several Forum folks. Got a discount cause of the off-season time frame. The condo will be different for us but at least there is a pool & we're still on STJ!!
Hope it works out for y'all.....

I think many of us are in the same boat. We just hate to give up STJ because of the crappy economy. We are staying at Grande Bay as well starting on Thanksgiving. I was also looking At Star Villas and Cruz Views before I booked GB. Cptnkirk knows how to do it cheap on STJ. Gilbey's (sp) vodka and crystal light  .
Going "home" again October 26th!
