Lunch on St Thomas? Best place?

Post by TravelinTexasGal »

We are taking a private tour of St Thomas this Wednesday and I haven't even thought about where we should stop for lunch! I must admit that I have been focusing on places and things to do in St John and this totally sliped my mind. We should be near the Court House around lunch but we are open for a place anywhere on island if its good. We are all major foodies who enjoy local fare and nothing fancy. Any sugestions on where we should go?

Thanks in advance!

Glady's or Cuzzins would be my choice :)

We really enjoy "Tickles" which is in Crown Bay and "Betsy's" which is in Frenchtown. I will also agree that "Glady's" is good and that is downtown in the shopping area! Tickles is right on the water and is a favorite of locals. We always have a lot of fun when we go there!

I know this may sound silly, but Bumpas downtown makes a yummy grilled peanutbutter, honey and banana sandwich! They are upstairs above a shop with a nice view of the water. It is just a little open air deli with a little grill, but it was refreshing when we were there. They serve drinks too. If you were going to be at Magens Beach I would say grab a pizza then save room for Udder Delight which is just outside at the end of the road when leaving the beach. They make yummy Adult milk shakes! If you go on Saturday, Hooter's has AUCE hot steamed shrimp for $12.99. Have fun!

All of those mentioned are good choices especially Glady's. We've also enjoyed the Greenhouse. The food is good and the view of the harbor is great.

I want to chime in with another recommendation for Gladys or Cuzzins.

Gladys is a bit better for location.

Greenhouse is great for happy hour!

Another vote for Greenhouse. We always eat our last lunch there before we head to the airport.

Where to eat on St Thomas

If you want island flavor you need to try Fungi's. The location is beautiful and the menu is much more than what is posted online.

If you want to stay in CA harbor, the Petite Pump Room is a great place for lunch.. plus you get to sit and watch the seaplanes come in and out.

ENJOY!

Greenhouse is a good time...especially to people watch if there is a cruise ship crowd. On my first ever trip to the USVI it was my first stop in combination with The Happy Buzzard. That is when and where I learned the differences between locals and everyone else (myself included).
