delurking

Post by anjebear »

Here goes, I was told you don't bite. Six of us, three adults (the sister-in-laws) and three brothers (the males) are coming to St John April 28th through May 5th. The Maryland couple have never been, the Delaware couple twice and the NH couple several times. My family camped at Cinnamon Bay for years starting in the 70's, when the mode of travel was Herman's bus and the excitement of the week was the Wednesday night fish fry. It has definitely changed, but I still love it. We meet every August in Ocean City, Maryland for a week and plan our next vacation, and St John it is.

That's nice the family all travels together :) Bet you'll have fun showing them the older pictures so they can compare to the present day look. Where have you stayed before?

Tom: We'll be bringing my Father and Brother's ashes down, they both loved ST John.

Diana2: We are staying at Spindrift in Coral Bay.

Toni: I have only stayed at Cinnamon Bay in the tents and the cottages, the others have only come over for the day from cruises.

Mary Beth: Trip Report, I'll have to take lessons from Jorge. I don't think I can write like he does.

Jorge: I'll try to leave the Island in one piece since we'll be there the week before you.

Ruth: I live in Nashua. My best friend from high school taught at Exeter High in the 70's.

Glad you decided to "expose" yourself!

Welcome to this forum and happy planning for your upcoming trip! The folks here can offer up a wealth of info and friendship.

Hope you'll honor us with a trip report, will be anxious to hear how the newbies enjoy their first visit! Would also love to hear some of your memories from camping at Cinnammon Bay in the 70's.

Welcome Andrea, STJ with a crowd is great. Our last trip was 3 sisters and 3 husbands, bunch o'kids with an uncle and cousing thrown in. Sorry to see that the trip is to bring your dad's and brother's ashes, although I know thats what I'd like my family to do. My husband Bill expressed the same desire and when I told him I'd do it - he was ditressed that I'd go to STJ without him.

Welcome Andrea!

I am very intrigued by Spindrift. We almost stayed there last year. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it when you are back from your trip.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
