You guys all make me appreciate my mama. All she wants is a bed and a beach ... and she babysits!

Funny she gets on my nerves more stateside than on vacay and we take her everywhere we can!

Gromit, I feel kind of bad that we "forumites" caused a riff with your mom. That said, I could NEVER go on vacay with my mom. She is the queen of button pushers!!! I just asked my kids if I push their buttons I got one "no" and one "HA!". Hmmm, gotta work on that...

Great report again!

Oh honey, I feel your pain! My mom, who I love dearly, has driven me bats on occasion but I held my tongue because she was with us in a babysitter capacity.

I think we should do a thread about people who travel with us to STJ but drive us MAD!

Don't you hate it when you say something and all of a sudden you realize it sounds like something your Mom would say?

#1 Rule for Mommas:
Don't overdrink your limit and wreck the trip.
#2 Rule for Mommas:
Don't expect your kids to be you. You raised them to be independent...so let them...your job is over, enjoy the ride.
#3 Rule for Mommas:
Listen, listen, listen. This also relates to rule number 1.

As parents age we hit a point where we are still trying to parent instead of letting the kids lead the way. For some folks, it's just plain hard to give up parenting.

Really feel for you, but on the other hand, I wish I could take my Mom to the Islands. She's 86 and just couldn't handle it.

She does drive me crazy and I take her every weekend down the shore in NJ so she can get away too. She LOVES the ocean. She also loves just being around people. She gets lonely and I understand that, so I try to bite my tongue and let things roll off my back knowing that she won't be around forever
