Villas Ideas / 3 people / Water View / Walk 2 Snorkel?

Post by lpowmacback »

Sorry folks - our plans keep evolving .. and now possibly taking our soon to be 22 year old son... We have stayed at Gallows and LOVE it but want to spend a little less and also try something new...

Considering Bay House (great price & views) but would really like a place where our son could walk/hike to go snorkeling in case he gets bored of the view & we aren't

We are probably going in mid-January - and must have great, fairly close water views (pivotal), light & sunny feel, pool, washer/dryer, ability to walk to snorkeling.

I'm also considering Lavender Hill - how is the view? Any specific unit we should request?

Thanks
Peace,

Lisa

The first villa that popped in my head that might meet your specs is Carnival Beach House on Klein Bay.

Check it out~

Long View Villa overlooking Chocolate Hole and Hart Bay. There's a path behind the house, passed the swimming pool that takes you down to Hart Bay. Great views, 2 br w/ac. We loved it.

I've been in one unit at Lavender Hill and it was quite nice. I can't say about the view as I was at night for a party around the pool. easy walk to town and out to soloman or honeymoon.

Thanks folks!! :-)

They're all lovely BUT...Carnival (I had looked into that one before)has no laundry facilities... Poinciana has no pool... and Long View & Beach Music are as much - if not more than Gallows -

So... the search goes on :-)
Peace,

Lisa

How about this one? There is a hot tub, no pool.

Lille Paradise and La Sirena, on www.windspree.com; the pages for each say you can walk to Kiddle Bay. Each has a nice looking pool and w/d. They're on the south side past Coral Bay. Views look really nice.

Calypso Cove is by the water by Fish Bay; it has a small pool, don't know about w/d.

All these look like they could be less expensive than Gallows for a week.

I wouldnt' cross bay house off your list yet....he could walk down the hill and the water is right there. I can't remember which direction but left or right you can "hike" to drunk bay.....not sure of the snorkeling....but it's not far. If you rent a car...could he take it to a nearby beach? The VITRAN also stops right infront of lily's market/crabby's.....

not sure if it is on any beach route...but an option

We are still leaning towards Bay House - it looks like a lovely house with beautiful views - and has everything we are looking for... Thanks :-)

You might think you can walk down and snorkel Coral Bay but - no. It won't work.

other options- check out places closer to Francis Bay or Gibney Cottages

We can second chicagoans suggestion but would recommend La Sirena of the two. It has a great pool, two nice bedrooms, a great cabana by the pool, a small but sufficient laundry room. You have two interesting bays within a 5 minute walking distance, Kittle and Grootpan for snorkeling. If you're even slightly adventurous, Salt Pond is walkable.

The only drawbacks of the place that we can think of are that you share the driveway with Lille Paradise, but there are no other villas close by. So if no one is at the other villa it is very private. And the road can be challenging. It is not steep just rutted. Four wheel drive with decent ground clearance would be comforting.

We are currently staying in "Latitude". It sits just above Carnival Beach House. Latitude is very nice but a little more expensive. To snorkel just walk down the driveway and down a short access road, your on the beach within 2 minutes. Carnival looks very nice but I suspect Latitude gets better breezes since it is up the hill just a piece. Very quiet, we're loving it here.
