Best In Season mo. & small villa w/ view of water (w/poo

Post by lpowmacback »

Hubby & I are planning on going back to STJ next year- and would really like to go when NJ is at its worst - so... that would be January, February, March & April (although this year - May & June were the worst too). Is there any advantage to one month over another as it relates to pricing and/or weather- I assume all villas consider mid Dec. through mid April In Season... but are there any slump times where better rates are given out?

We have stayed at Gallows before and LOVED it - but the rates are a little too pricey - and we thought we'd try a little villa instead... one with a GORGEOUS VIEW OF WATER - must have a pool -and must be well maintained... any suggestions?
Peace,

Lisa

not sure of your price range but we just got back from a week on stj. We stayed on the Coral Bay side for the first time and really enjoyed it. We stayed at Bay House. It was a 2 bed....with a pool, and AWESOME deck and nice water views. There are lots of smaller villas to choose from.

Lisa, I think there is a bit of a pocket of time immediately following Thanksgiving to right before Christmas that is still considered off season by most rental companies.

Like you we have wanted to get away when our weather is at it's worst and after several Jan/Feb/March trips we tried that period last year and it worked out very well for us so we are doing it again this year. We will arrive on St John the Sunday after T'giving .

We hope once again for good weather as we had last year. I would say the water was warmer than Jan/Feb/Mar past trips. I also thot the island was less busy and that was to our liking.

This coming trip we will be staying on the Coral Bay side at a 1 bedroom villa called Island Dreams which appears to meet all of your criteria. Check it out at:

There is a sister property called St John Livin' that is very similar.

I'm just trying to figure out why you want a villa with "poo"....yuck. I don't know any that come standard with that feature.

Sorry, I couldn't resist

It quietens down after the New Year for a few weeks and then picks up again, but do not come Presidents Day week if you are looking for a quiet holiday - it gets crazy as everyone from the East Coast is here with their children as I believe the schools close for a week.
