Does Chilly Billy's accept credit cards?

Post by TropicAtHeart »

We haven't been to Chilly Billy's since the new ownership and were wondering if they only accept cash. I read on one site 'Cash only' but the information seemed old.

I'm surprised know one knows the answer. Is Chilly Billy's still operating with the new owner? Are the breakfast prices still reasonable?

Thank you for the information. That menu sure is hard to read. I'll print it out. Hope they accept credit cards.

Hate to be a bummer but we had breakfast at Jakes and will not return. I usually don't bitch about much but I have to draw the line here. Five thums down is my opinion and thats pretty much what I have to say.

Jake's

Jake's definitely does accept credit cards.
This menu is a little old also, but give them a call if you have any questions.

We had dinner at Jake's just last week and we thought it was great!! Nothing fancy, just good food at reasonable prices. All three of us had something different and, although I can't recall exactly what we had, I know they were all sandwiches and we all loved them. They came with a side of pasta salad that was also great! I am sad to read of Boston Mike's experience because we were actually saying that we should talk about this place on the forum so that people would give it a chance. Maybe breakfast isn't their forte? I say give 'em a chance for lunch or dinner.

To echo Ruth, they definitely accept credit cards.

Just had breakfast there on Wednesday - a breakfast burrito, chocolate chip pancakes, and a meat lovers omelette (there were 3 of us!). All of us enjoyed our food and had plenty of leftovers. We did pay via credit card.

Thank you everyone for your input and comments. I'm glad there's still a place to eat that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I actaully miss the Subway that used to be in town. Oh, I know some didn't like the fact of a 'chain' being present on island, but it was a good place to get an inexpensive yet decent deli sandwich and they had awesome chocolate chip cookies. I'll support any establishment that tries to keep their prices low.

We ate at Jakes in April for dinner. We were the only ones there. Food was good and reasonably priced. Great view (sit at the counter that faces the bay) Certainly hope they can make a go of it...seems St John could use more places that offer simple food at good prices, especially for dinner.
I believe there is magic here...

We had breakfast at Jake's several times in April and loved it. They had a high bar to reach since we had been big Chilly Billy fans.

I love Jake's space because of the way they opened it up. They took the wall down between the old bar area and the rest of the porch. The bloody marys and mimosas and coffee were as good as CB's. I like being able to catch the morning news on the flat screen over the bar even if it isn't of the fair and balanced variety. kidding

Pancakes and eggs were a hit. I preferred the old CB breakfast burrito because it was a thin, thin jalapeno cheese omlette wrapped inside a burrito topped with salsa, guac and sour cream. Jakes makes theirs with scramled eggs and wraps home fries into the burrito. Just too thick for my taste. The next time I ordered it with the home fries on the side and it was good,, but they didn't have guac.

Still a great place for breakfast IMO.

We had breakfast at Jakes on Thursday (July 2) morning. We both went for the breakfast burrito. I was very big and very good.
