When you are reading messages there is a button in the lower left of the message window that says PM. That will open up a new page that will let you type in a message to the post author. That's the easiest way to do it.

Otherwise, near the top of the forum page there is a link that says "You have no new messages" (assuming that you have no new messages). Click on that and you'll go to you PM inbox. Once there you will see a button that says "New Post". When you click that you'll see a new page where you can type in your message and the name of the user you want the message to go to. If you don't remember the name you can click on "Find a user name" and search using a partial name.

Hope that helps and makes sense! Send me a PM for practice!
