Not to pile on, but as the husband of a very pregnant woman, my first response was "Oh God!"
I remember those first 2 weeks from 7 years ago and the last thing I'd have wanted was to be anyplace but at home. Not to say that you're wrong or right, but I personally would never consider it.
Someone also made a good point on the elusiveness of due dates. They're slippery at best unless a C-Section is scheduled.
