US Virgin Islands quarter?? Guam just got one

Post by John LMBZ06 »

I just saw my first Guam quarter. I did not know that they were going to put one out. Guam became under US control in 1898, so that was before the Virgin Islands in 1917 and before Puerto Rico 1947 (although we sort of took control in 1898 under the same Spanish-American war that gave us Guam). I have not seen anything that about a US Virgin Islands quarter or individual ones for each island.

Does anyone have any information on this?

Oh...my wife's gonna be pissed. The quarter books she took on completing after her Mom passed away aren't as done as she thought they were

Thanks loria. I put "Virgin Island quarters" in yahoo, but for some reason did not come up with that. It was probably further down the list and I did not have the patients to keep looking.

Pipanale - similar situation. My grandfather gave me the template and the first couple of states when this whole thing started a couple of years before he passed away. I kind of want to complete it in memory of him. The template does not have an space for the Virgin Islands, Guam or any other teritory.

Our bank is only offering them as a set, so if you want the V.I. you have take the other four and they had to be pre-ordered in Jan. ..Each bank is different though.

I think it would be neat to put one in a coin bezel and wear it as a pendant. :)
