Accidental Vacation Photos

Post by KTinTX »

Just curious how many of you have accidentally or inadvertently ended up with a memorable vacation photo that is special because of some strange reason that had nothing to do with why the photo was taken? I'll give my example below.

I took a series of sunset photos on Kaanapali Beach back in 2004. Thankfully, I took a SERIES, so I got a real shot, but this partial eclipse of the setting sun was AMAZING...for all the wrong reasons!

For some reason, the photo is not showing up.

funny, it is when I view the thread. Did you right-click the red X (assuming that you have that) and tell it to "show picture"?

I don't see the picture or the red x. Are you using Kodak Galleries? that seems to happen when people try to post pic's from there.

I moved the photo, you should see it now in the original post. It was on pbase, but now on Flickr.

Weird that I can see it.

I have no idea who it was/is. My wife and I were sitting at Leilani's restaurant on Kaanapali beach in Maui while the sun was setting. There is a sidewalk between the beach and the restaurant, so I had to time my shots if I didn't want to walk around and across to the beach to shoot. I shot a series of three shots with slightly different settings, and he walked into the last one! The large tuft of hair protruding from the collar under his chin is classic.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, I took this as we cruised up to the Cooper Island dock in Feb 2008 -

Yes, it was a total accident although the husbands think otherwise
