Peace, Love and STJ
Gromit and all the forumites,
I live on STJ and I lurk more then I post. I'm not very eloquent when attempting to get my point across, so here it goes.
After living on St. John for awhile now, not long enough to be considered an oldtimer, but not a newbie resident either, I had become somewhat cynical and jaded.
Having said that, reading this forum brings me back to remembering everything I love about St. John and just how priviledged I am to be able to live here. I remember the first time I stepped off the plane in STT and the humidity hit me, how exciting that was. I recall my first ferry ride and coming into the dock on St. John. My first look at the North Shore beaches. How much I love Jost. I experience it everytime I read a trip report.
I remember the first time I drove a car, my first trip up South Shore Rd. to Giftt Hill. I swore I'd never do it again, now I drive it daily.
In reading Gromit's posts I have found information about the VI Government sources that I wouldn't have otherwise known. The information on beaches that I honestly still don't know how to get to, but live the experience through all of you. I really should get out more...
Thank you Gromit and all of you for the love you have for one another and for reminding me that there still is Love in Love City.

thank you gromit--
and let me say to everyone--when my brother was in a very bad situation in africa during a coup- Gromit --who DOES NOT KNOW ME (except thru here) went to some heroic efforts thru friends of hers to make sure that the appropriate folks knew that my brother (stupid brother!!!) was where he was and safely got out of the country--for that i am FOREVER grateful --it is places like here and people like this that give me faith that we're all ok--i don;t have to agree with everyone all the time but i do appreciate each of you in your own way
and to Gromit, a huge public hat's off.
ps, Gromit my brother promises to check in with the embassy wherever he is from now on.
like i said, next one is on me--hope you and flip flop have a great trip
