Short boat trip help!
Short boat trip help!
We are planning a graduation treat for our two kids - I will have a college graduate (GOD WILLING) AND a high school graduate next June. Planning on doing a 2-week stay on St. John - but would love to have a couple nights aboard a catamaran. Anyone have a good suggestion foro that? Thanks!

Check with Scubadu - I hear wonderful things

I like your stytle Emerson! Many family members might qualify. Thanks for the Scubadu recommendation -- I have emailed them. I really need a bigger boat though, I think! I might need for 8 people - ugh - help me! You know - I blame the Soggy Dollar Bar's web came. I am freakin obsessed with waking up/passing out there!!!
Joe Mellen and his crew on Scubadu are phenomenal and the boat is fabulous. http://www.sailvi.com/

The company I work for has cats big enough to do what you need but we have a five night minimum. http://www.cyoacharters.com/
Best way to do it would be to plan on spending day one on the dock in St Thomas, ten minute cab ride form the airport, it will save you the cost of a hotel or villa for the night and give you some decompression time to adjust to island time. Day 2 Jost, Day 3 Norman Island, the Willy T, Indians, Caves etc, Day 4 North Side of St John, Maho, Cinnamon, Trunk you get the picture, clear back into customs then day 5 back to St Thomas off the boat by noon and back on the Ferry to St John to check in your villa early afternoon. It also would be possible to leave part of your crew and bags in St John on the morning of the last day so you don't have to yoyo them back and forth. If you have any questions let me know or contact Stacy via our website.

Sue,
Yes provisions and captain are extra. As for provisions that's easy to handle the first day. After a little time at the marina a quick trip to the store will take care of that or you can order ahead for a little extra. Captain's are $175 a day plus tips of course. You also have to feed them either on board or on shore.

PS and you get to do things like this.
