AMERICA is a surprising place

Post by mbw1024 »

Always has been always will be, I hope.
Just thought I'd cut to the chase before we go through this with the remaining 47 states!

Thank you Mary Beth...

It is the land of free and the home of the brave...

I am also a nationalized citizen for many years now, since I was a teen.

Tears spring to my eyes whenever I hear Lee Greenwood sing his song "Proud to be an American".
Hoping for a USVI ticker in 2013!

He's said plenty of anti-American things in his past and aligned with plenty of anti-American "thinkers" to get down in the weeds about a birth-certificate issue. I cannot jump on board with that one, but the man clearly has an antipathy for much of what America stands for.

And his wife? She gives me a migrane.

Enough with the political party bashing. We get it, you don't like them, democrats or republicans. It really is getting old.

I have been really trying to stay away from the forum because most of these posts start off looking for a fight (not you,MB) and then the OP gets mad when they get that fight. It is just ridiculous. You want people to disagree with you and challenge you so you can talk about how your viewpoint is so much better.

Maybe Anthony can make a Political OT forum? That way you guys can talk amongst yourselves and I can go back to looking a pictures of food and drink!

In case you haven't seen it X, there is a wonderful, epic food and drink thread here...http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/f ... php?t=4797

You see, there are thread titles. Usually they pertain to or have some vague relevence to what is being discussed. As such, one has the liberty to choose to "left click" or not choose "left click" on a given thread. Once you choose "left click" however, you are subject to the evil banter that may be taking place within (in poker, we call this "pot committed").

Surf cautiously. It's rough out there.

Crap, every dog has its days. America seems to be having one of those days. No matter how crappy it gets, no matter democratic or republican, it doesn’t matter because I still live in and respect one of the greatest countries in the world. Say or do what you will, that is my opinion.

Peace out and be no worries. You don’t get to heaven without driving through hell first.

no need to stay away from the entire forum due to a handful of political threads on the off-topic forum.

and i'm with waterguy "America is a wonderful place... where else could we all disagree and still get along..."

we all have different opinions but we all love stj!

X was making a straight forward comment about how this thread developed into a political one a few posts down when it did not start off as one. I agree with her 100% and would have written a similar post if she didn't. Sox....you just came off as a huge smartass with your post. Good goin'

I think everyone needs to take a deep breath, reach into their liquor cabinets and make a nice, stiff drink.

Don't we all feel better now?
