Coral Bay Villas?
Coral Bay Villas?
Ok - Again - Our family of four heading to St.John next year in July. I have now changed our location to Coral Bay as we are just not into shopping and crowds. Myself, hubby, 12 and 9 year old. So far I have found Sea Biscuit, Mayan Sky, and La Sirena but not sure if La Sirena has air -must have air for July. Anyone stayed at these villas or have any other suggestions for Coral Bay area. Would like to keep it under $3,000 for the week and must have pool and air. Thanks for all your help!

we are staying in Coral bay in a couple of weeks! 2 kids ages 4 and 6....we had a problem with Sea Biscuit as they wouldn't allow small kids....you are probably in the clear about that tho'.....
We are staying at Bayhouse...

it has 2 bedrooms with AC...but no AC in the upstairs. THis is our 7th trip to st. john...and the breezes are plentiful. We've never had a problem....besides...we are out most of the day anyway....
You can definately get a nice house under 3k that time of year. We picked Bayhouse for the pool, inside bedrooms, and can 'walk" to a restaurant or two if we wanted to.
good luck!

Sea Biscuit is a great house! Not sure how we slipped under the radar on the kids thing. I did see on one site no kids under 8, so you should be fine. We rented through Windspree and didn't have a problem and I confirmed with them that it was ok (our kids were 19 months and 6 at the time).
Bayhouse is right below it and seems great too! I know RickG stayed there.

I just got back from a stay in CORAL RAYS right up the hill from Island Blues. It will be very large for your family, but its within your budget for off season and I cannot say enough good things about this villa. It has a pool and hot tub and amazing kitchen and great room. I imagine its kid-friendly as there were kid pool toys on the deck. But there weren't any in my group, so I can't be sure. And yes, it has AC.
This villa got 10 thumbs up from my group! We rented through vrbo.com and I chatted directly with one of the owners. He was fabulous to deal with and very prompt.

I know that Fun and Contentment was nicknamed by a fellow forumite Anger and Resentment(they did not have a good stay
)

Wow! That shocks me. We loved it. Very new. Nicely decorated. A/C. Nice Hot tub. Fabulous views and breezes. Only minuses that we saw (and they were not minuses to us)- the trip up (fun ride in a Jeep) and the pool is small (but was only two of us and we stayed at the beaches anyway). I will stay there again...and SOON I hope!

Beautiful villa...sounds like it is near Fun and Contentment. I love that area.
We almost picked this house a couple of trips back but had someone averse to too many stairs. Looked great though. How's the driveway? I heard it was tough. Thanks!Sun4MySoul wrote:I just got back from a stay in CORAL RAYS right up the hill from Island Blues. The pool is 8 x 20 (just looked it up on their Web site). It was fine for us. Big enough for two floats. have you checked out their site at www.funandcontentment.com? We really did enjoy our stay there.Hawaii wrote:rebelbeachgirl - Sounds like fun and contentment is a great villa. You said the pool is small. It does not look that way from the pictures but do you think big enough for the kids to swim arouund? We do not have to have a huge pool just big enough so they can swim a little. Thanks for your reply.

Flip- There are stairs, its true. Probably only an issue for folks that stay in the master bedrooms in the lower cottage. I just figured that I was working off all the Bushwackers that I wanted to drink! I only go down to my bedroom once or twice or day, so no biggie to me.
The driveway was once a nightmare, I'm told. It is still steep, but completely paved the whole way. Never any problems, even when it rained. Just put the Jeep in 4wd for the initial pull out of the parking space and that's it.
