Not been able to be around much lately, but still looking forward to our July trip. Getting caught up on all the trip reports! Yea!
Here's our decision we need help with! Jason and I went to Jost on the ferry 8/07. My parent's have never been. I have a passport, the other three don't and didn't realize this June 1 deadline was going to happen.
Should we get the passport cards and hope they get here and take the ferry to Jost for the day.
Or, is there some snorkel trip in USVI waters that we should take since we've never done that. We've only done sunset sails.
I loved Soggy Dollar and the snorkel trips seem almost as expensive as the ferry/buying passports do. Just wondering your opinion. I know one is snorkeling and one is beach/drinking day!
Thanks!
Nicolle

If you act now you should get them back in time and then they won't have to worry about having passports for future travel.
I'm not as familiar with how the cards work-- though I thought they were designed more for folks who live near a border area and travel across the borders were a regular thing.
Just double check the passport vs. card issue to be sure.

save the panic and do a snorkel trip around stj! there are so many great spots. call captain phil chalker- he's a serious science guy and will bring you to great spots. lotsa other great day charters around stj too but he popped in my head first.
we did a day trip around stj in a power boat with flyaway charters. snorkeled at waterlemom, mary's point (it think- it was some point near salt pond i think), newfound bay, etc. hung out and chatted with captain in newfound bay- such a serene place. it was a great time.
you don't have travel to the bvi's for a great day trip on da water.

A couple of years ago we went out with Captain Phil for a snorkel day off St. John. We snorkeled off Little St. James in two spots and then one more place that I can't remember. It was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed sailing back to Cruz Bay at the end of the day.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
