Lurker Delurking

Post by teragram »

First of all, thank you to everyone on this board for the wealth of information for our past trips to St. John and for our future one -- next week.

Background: My husband (Randy) and I went to Cozumel for our 15th wedding anniversary, so for our 20th we wanted to do another tropical trip. I love to research and started checking into some islands and St. Thomas caught my attention. Somehow I got connected with this forum and soon found that St. John was the place to go. So, in June of 2004, we spent a week on Bordeaux Mountain in Orchid Knoll. We "got it" immediately and went back again the following April and stayed in Villa Margherita in the Upper Carolina area. The following June we took our two kids (12 & 17) & friends and their 2 1/2 year old. This time we stayed in Coral Rays. As you can tell, we love the laid back Coral Bay area. We took a few years off and are now going back for our 25th anniversary (just the two of us). Again we are staying in Coral Bay, this time in a newer villa -- Villa Madeline. We took advantage of a discount the owner was offering. The villa sounds to have everything we're looking for; except it might not have the higher views we love. We'll soon find out!

I promise to step out of my lurker mode and contribute where I can, as I know how invaluable this forum is for all of us Virgin Island travelers.

Anthony should have received a PM from me asking him to add us to the travel calendar. We'll be on St. John from June 10 until June 17. We're looking forward to this trip and we hope to meet some of you who will be on the island during this time. I will add a message to the June 14 gathering post.

teragram is my legal name backwards -- Margaret

I'm not sure about a tangram, but it does look like the word!

I'm struggling with getting an avitar. I'm not the most computer savvy when it comes to pictures, with enough tries I'll get it!

If I can shamelessly take advantage of your expertise....I tried to post a picture of my son as my avatar, but apparently its too big. Is there an easy way to shrink it? The picture is on my work hard drive and I am pretty limited as to what "photo" sites I can access from my work PC.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. As you can see, I'm not exactly the most tech-savy person in the world. I'm probably one of 6 ppl under 35 who has never been on facebook, myspace or twitter. Pretty proud of it, actually.

Peg,

We will be arriving on Monday 6/15 and staying in Luna Vista just off Centerline Road between Bordeaux and the smoothy stand. Perhaps we can cross paths while there.

JIM,

We don't have any definite plans (except Jost on Friday), which is how our trips usually go! We do have a list of things we'd like to do, if we miss anything, we know we have to go back and do it next time.
