Oh crap I can't just pick two :D Trunk far left when the tides right we get our own private beach down by the rocks. That view and surrondings are tough one to beat, it was absulutely perfect our last visit there.
And this is why we have never visited Salomon. Given the amount of food and beverage that we take to the beach, people would think we were staying at Maho for a week!

I refuse to pick one favorite. Several favorites and the reasons why:

Scott Beach because it was our first STJ beach
Maho because it is the first dip in the sea for my (then) 4.5 month old.
Gibney because we had so much fun hanging out when we stayed above it

Bev - you can be my tour guide 8)
Yes, I am for hire at a very reasonable rate..

We never made it to Salt Pond because with my bad back I thought that trip back up the hill would kill me.
By the time we schlepp the chairs, towels, cooler, IPOD and player, beach bag and rafts I'm done...WHEW!

I just bring water, minimal crap and take my time.

It really pisses me off thoguh to see the little ones racing upt he hill like it's NOTHING.
For us, it just wasn't the right place to go at that time - we just didn't know it until it was too late.

My wife is very outdoorsy and when people described the beach as a walk from the parking lot she got all "I LIVED IN THE RAIN FOREST IN COSTA RICA FOR 6 MONTHS - I CAN WALK FROM A PARKING LOT". Who am I to argue with a pregnant chick, so we went.

After a 1/2 hour of laying on some brush to capture the only available shade, then subsequently getting swarmed with ants and treking up the hill on the way back to the jeep, we decided that lounging by the pool was the best bet for the rest of the day.

This question is too hard.

I love Cinnamon, but I too carry a lot of crap, and it can be a long walk. But it's definitely worth it.

Maho is right by the road, and just about perfect. Just don't let the critters get your sandwich from Baked in the Sun.

There's a reason Trunk is one of the 10 best beaches in the world. It's perfect, but definitely go on a non-Cruise-ship day. Those are getting harder to find.

But honestly, my best day on a trip to St. John is always the day I pay my $60 bucks for the ferry and go over to White Bay. Heaven on earth.

Of course, like them all, each very unique. But, if I really had to choose just one: Maho, there is magic beyond the obvious beauty there.

Maybe Tourist Trap would consider making up batches of smoothies to randomly deliver to Salt Pond? I bet people would pay more than the norm for a cold smoothie right before their walk up that hill! :-)

This pretty much mirrors our last Salt Pond experience except I wasn't pregnant and our son was 4.5 months old.

I wore him since the day he was born and I thought I would drop over by the time we reached the parking lot. The guys carried all the beach stuff so all I had was my little guy.

That was not our first trip to Salt Pond but I had no memory of that death march. Maybe our prior trips were on cooler, breezier days?

I posted the topic and failed to list our favorite beaches. Ours were Salomon, Scott, and Honeymoon. On our trip later this month we will explore some different beaches that we didn't get too on our last trip.
