Cruz Views....your opinions, comments, etc.
We just got back on May 16 from another AMAZING trip to STJ. We have only stayed in a villa in Chocolate Hole & love it there....we'll do this again in May of next year.
Here's the situation: we're trying to work up a shorter & somewhat cheaper trip for the last of October/first of November cause we're having a very hard time waiting until next May.
Looking at Cruz Views & particularly #7....anyone stayed there?....comments?...opinions?....suggestions?
Thanks!

I haven't stayed in #7, but did stay in #10 and #3. I love Cruz Views. There is no better deal on the island and the view is great. It's not Peter Bay, but for the tax on one of those villas, you could pay for CV (probably less).
The location is great if you like being close to Cruz Bay, but it's very quiet. I was there over spring break a few years ago, and there was no noise.

We have stayed in #7 (and also #10). It's a great condo! It's recently renovated and they did a very nice job. You can't beat this place for the price. It's also great to be so close to town (but you still need a car since it's a tough hike back up). The views are amazing and we love the resident cat, Sam. Each unit comes equipped with beach chairs, towels and coolers so you have the same benefits of a villa. Let me know if you have any other specific questions.

We just stayed in #7 this past April and enjoyed it tremendously! If I wasn't so delinquent with my trip report, I would have posted the pictures by now, but.. well... there's really no excuse...
I do recommend the unit, especially if you like cross-eyed black & white cats
Let me know if you'd like me to post some of my pics of the unit.

Thanks, I still can't picture it. Because of the construction, we did not take Centerline out of town this time, just back in. I love the north shore road anyway for the scenery. Next trip, I will make a conscious effort to find Cruz Views. Sounds like for the price, you can't go wrong.
Going "home" again October 26th!
OK...Now you've
got my attention about Cruz Views!
This sounds like the place for Honey and Me
to spend one of the two weeks we plan
on Island in late July early Aug.
Due to recent
change in working status
...such as "NOT"...from plant closing...
we need to cut costs!
Do they have there own website or are they
listed with an agency?
Thanks,
Sherry

Question on CV. We stayed on the other side of Pocket money Lane twice and the heat was stifling. No breeze whatsoever in the house. Does it open up enough to allow some air to move around over at CV? I'm just curious because I've mentally crossed that whole hill off of my list because of the heat we endured.
Hi all. Lots of questions on Cruz Views. We've stayed there 5 or 6 times(in units 1 and 2) and love it. Up on the hill so great views (and great breezes). We always get a car so have only have walk the hill once. It's a killer.
We'll be back again this year at Thanksgiving. I'm thinking we should have a forum gathering at CV.

I didn't find it very breezey the times we were there, but we cranked down the ac and had the place nice and cool. It's a small condo, so there are not really any big windows to open up and get the cross ventilation that you get in some villas. But I found the ac to work very well. It can be hot sitting out on the deck, especially in the summer, but that's true of a lot of villas that face west.pipanale wrote:Question on CV. We stayed there in April for 3 nights. CV offers a great value and is very close to Cruz Bay. The condos are laid out like (much) smaller versions of the two story units at Gallows Point. The pool is smallish but nice. The views are really nice. We stayed in Unit 2 (we were last minute and it was the only one left), and while far from fancy, it met our needs just fine. I am not a 5-star person, so it worked well for us.
I had a hard time envisioning where these were until I arrived. If you head up the hill past Dolphin market and bear straight where you can go either left or straight, CV is up that "hill". We had no issues walking down, but UP was a different story. We walked up one night after we picked up Ronnie's pizza, and our trip up was comical at best. Especially after many painkillers. If you catch a taxi at Dolphin, they charge you $3 a person as opposed to $5 from town.
No breeze issues up there for us, but April is fairly temperate anyway. The A/C worked great and kept us cool at night. We didn't have any issues with noise, but the Sirenusa complex had no workers present.
