STJ Prep Fully Underway

Post by flip-flop »

We've been hitting the pool every weekend to get Belly Flop accustomed to his rashguard and hat. As in THEY ARE NOT OPTIONAL you with virgin skin.

I have started the piles of stuff.

The Box has been mailed.

The Passports have been located.

The "mom bag of tricks and treats" is being stocked.

Almost lift off...

The 50% off rashguard I bought in desperation at Skinny's last year still fits (even if he is giving me the "Mom are you serious?" look)...

Rashguard in August 08...almost a year ago. Where did my baby boy go?

He's GIANT. My pediatrician (our friend) says to me at his 2 year check-up, "I would show you on this chart where he is but this is the two year old chart ... he's over on the 4 year old chart!"

At least he's proportional ;-) and a GUY!

PRECIOUS baby! You sound like me...our trip is not far behind yours...my seven year old little girl and I have been dancing around the house singing our "vacation song..." and I've started doing some packing...we're doing carry ons so I figured if we're not using it or wearing it right now its going in the suitcase...with very limited space I don't want to forget anything...can't wait!

I LOOOVE the expression on his face in that first pic! Well you're ahead of me. I did get the bags out on Sunday. Haven't packed anything yet but hey, we have piles...

I started piles this morning !!

Post by KTinTX »

I'm planning to mail our 'box-o-stuff' down one week from tomorrow, so I started a box-pile this morning.

So far, I've got masks, snorkels, fins, insect repellent, collapsable cooler, contact solution for my wife, small flashlight, and sunscreen in the pile. I still have to add: ziploc bags, packing tape to reseal the box for the trip home, our mesh beach bag, and a pre-printed return label.

What am I forgetting Flip-Flop ????? We won't have kids with us, so none of that stuff is needed...besides mine somehow got really old before I knew it (10 & 13).

I've got a giant duffle bag in the 2nd bedroom that I'm just tossing stuff into as I come across the items I think I may want to bring.

That's the only way I am keeping my sanity right now as Mr. Gromit and I are renovating the Master Bathroom ourselves and HOPING to get it finished before the trip. I'm not holding my breath....

;-) Without kids I think I go make it with a backpack! Just kidding.

You seem to have it all covered but I don't see a neat sheet on the list. A must for some, not necessarily for me anymore. I threw in a plastic durable water bottle and some crystal light and mini versions of laundry stuff (my kids have SUPER sensitive skin so I try to use the same detergent, dryer sheets etc for them) and a stain stick. KIDS again, but as a grown up I sometimes need it too!

You guys are getting me excited! We arrive on the 21st and I haven't done anything. One son is going to camp so I have him almost packed, then we got a new dog, and school is almost out, I better get moving!! It's all good! :)

My little girl will be so happy to have someone other than her 2YO bro to play with!
