Honeymoon.
There's just something about the sand there that, in my mind, is like no where else on St. John or even in the world. I could be delusional about this, but I'm okay with that.

Salomon for us, but the hike sucks cause we like to bring the villa with us  So for easy and beautiful with great snorkeling I vote Hawksnest as a very close second, love the view looking towards Gibney. Oh crap I can't just pick two :D Trunk far left when the tides right we get our own private beach down by the rocks. That view and surrondings are tough one to beat, it was absulutely perfect our last visit there.

I love them all! :D

Gibney, Cinnamon, and Francis have a slight edge though.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Oddly enough my fave is now Salt Pond although that climb back up the hill is a BITCH.

Reasons:

1) I feel like I am driving to the end of the earth when we go there.

2) Excellent snorkeling off the left hand side (facing out to sea) and around the point.

3) Decent sized beach with little spots to get out of the way -- also picnic tables.

4) Drunk bay hike

5) Unusual beauty of the actual Salt Pond

6) Donkeys lay on the beach

and MOST importantly...

7)the Tourist Trap is right near there so we can stop and grab a late lunch before heading out to the villa.

PS -- the hike back up the hill is not for the faint of heart. You gotta want to go.

LOL... I liken it to choosing my favorite Ben & Jerry's ice cream:

Sometimes I'm in the mood for something smooth and easy, like "Cherries Garcia" (Hawksnest, Gibney, Francis or Maho).

And sometimes I crave a little more adventure and go with "Chunky Monkey" (Salomon, Honeymoon, Salt Pond, Waterlemon).

Then there are the days when I just have to have it all, and I get me some "Everything But The..." (Trunk, Cinnamon).

It seems like a tough decision at the time, but whichever way you go, its all good!

I wish I knew this before I took my wife there when she was about 5 months pregnant.

She wasn't so happy about that walk. I was a bit concerned myself.

The good news - our son is 2 yrs old now and awesome (no ill effects). The bad news: my wife doesn't want to go back to Salt Pond.

Crasherino-- The thing is the hill itself is OK except that the heat, humidity and the sun really make this a lot tougher ont he way back up.

I just bring water, minimal crap and take my time.

It really pisses me off thoguh to see the little ones racing upt he hill like it's NOTHING.
