Maria Bluff Area
Maria Bluff Area
Hello everyone, we've just booked Maria Breeze in the Maria Bluff area (Great Cruz Bay). I would like to get feedback from any other Forum Members who have either stayed in this villa or in the Maria Bluff area. The pictures on the Seaview Homes website appears to show the villa will have some great views and a nice, large pool deck. We will be on-island November 1st. Thanks all for your help!

We stayed in Maria Breeze about 2 years ago. There were issues with one of the downstairs air conditioners, but the manager was great and got it fixed RIGHT away! It was kind of an odd house - each bedroom is accessible from outside with an individual key. We would do a key check-in every morning before we left - we were traveling with teens and wanted to make sure all bedrooms were locked - as well as we didn't lose any keys! Older home - but we enjoyed the view and the area. Gorgeous! Enjoy. The house right across the road is Kismet - WOW! Its incredible!
PA Girl - glad to hear the area is walkable - I like to exercise in the morning. Was Splendore close by?
NC Sue - I have looked at two different websites for Maria Breeze - Bookitvi.com and Seaview Homes - the pictures look somewhat different - like maybe there has been a little updating (Seaview ones). Anyway - I have looked at KISMET online - you are right - WOW! It looks incredible in the pictures, I can only imagine how nice it is in person. Can you tell me, which road Maria Breeze is on? I've looked at a couple maps of Maria Bluff trying to figure this out! Thanks for your remarks on the villa.

kklay, we also stayed at Splendore (for a little over two weeks, returned about two weeks ago).
Maria Breeze is facing Great Cruz Bay so it's located before you would get to Splendore. Splendore is kind of at the tip of Maria Bluff. The neighborhood is very nice. Lots of walkers in the morning, it's hilly but not treacherous. One of the biggest advantages of the Maria Bluff area is the fact that it is so close to town but, like Flip Flop said, it's convenient and yet feels remote.
It is possible that you will hear your neighbors (the villas are all pretty close to each other). I guess that would be the only downside to this area but it's a minor, minor, minor issue. A huge upside is that there will not be any construction noise as it's almost completely developed.
Maria Breeze looks like a lovely villa for a family. Enjoy!

I've toured Maria Breeze. It's at the top of the bluff at the end of the road with some really great views and breezes. It's right next door to Kisment and near Splendore, Choco Cruz, Orchid Hill and Avalon villas. The neighborhood is great for walking. The home is older, and depending on how particular you are will depend on your enjoyment of the villa itself. I have a friend who stays there exclusively, it's his favorite house and another who toured it and would never stay there. I would stay there with the right group but not with my luxury friends.
Thanks so much for the fantasic information. We are a group of friends traveling together. Some of us have been to St. John many times and for two of the couples it will be their 2nd trip. We typically are at a beach during the day, sunning, snorking and having a few refreshments. We usually hit Happy Hour at Woody's for the "Stimulous Beer"! Although we'd all love to have a more luxurious villa, it's not necessary and with the current economic conditions, and based on the fact that the entire group works in the automotive industry
we are all just happy to come back to St. John. The Maria Bluff area sounds wonderful and I'm excited about the views - I love sitting outside in the morning, drinking my tea (or whatever!)and thinking how fortunate I am. I do know there is a full moon on November 2nd and I'm looking forward to the view. Thanks again for all your information and responses!

Wow, look at that. Thanks, Salty Dog. I assumed (from the views on the website for Maria Breeze) that it was on the Great Cruz Bay side of Maria Bluff. The location looks wonderful!
I wanna go back. Now!
Oh well, I guess I just have to wait another whole year. Grrrrrrrrr.

I was going to mention the potential neighbor noise but I wasn't sure where Maria Breeze is located.Marcia (Mrs. Pete) wrote: It is possible that you will hear your neighbors (the villas are all pretty close to each other). Now that I know, yes, you may hear neighbors. The houses are rather close to together but the landscaping is mature.
We would hear the surrounding neighbors on occasion but no one was annoying.
