Finally...the end
We are leaving and I am sure that you all know the drill. Leave the house, return the car, last minute shopping at STJ Spice. The typical Walk of Woe.
I cried when I said goodbye to Ruth, I am a sap and she is a good friend. The ferry ride is always sad for me too. Rachel met us and dropped us downtown. Bad move. 4 ships in, 3 of them Carnival ships. Just not my style. We had a nice lunch at Gladys' and some walking around. Rachel picked us up, we got a porter, and we were through Customs and security in no time.
Flights were long, we did not get to bed until after 1am.
*************
Final Thoughts
*We really needed this trip, which made it even better.
*We did a lot of nothing, and I enjoyed every second of it.(I know I enjoyed it even if I can't remember details)
*Traveling with great people makes for a great vacation.
*Meeting so many people from the forum made the trip even better. I know I get all warm and fuzzy about this crap, but being able to hug the people that have been such a part of your virtual world takes it out of the computer and into life.
*Chip gets it. I knew he did after the first trip, but now that he is comfortable on the island, it makes it even better for me.
*STJ vacations are damn expensive. I know we can stay at a condo or a smaller house without a pool and we could eat in more but we don't. Maybe next year we will economize...or not.
*I think I made it all week without yelling at any tourists, but I did yell at Irvins...but he deserved it, right Ruth?
I will leave you with a few of my artsy shots. I am no pro, but I like them

And in honor of American Idol, that I am watching right now, XIG OUT!
