you all are so kind. we saw the neuro guy today and Spinny is now on hypertension meds and aspirin--we'll see how she does --she is not eating right now --so that is concerning me (she had been eating well) and i have to try to do physical therapy with her (again, not a pretty sight) --I am hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst--thank you all so much for your kind messages. It means a great deal.

Loria, I'm sure that Spinny just absolutely loves you. Just do what you have to do. Physical therapy is great for her/him.

She is part of the family and you have to do what you have to do.

I wish you luck.

Loria,

Spinny is as lucky to have you as you are to have her.
My prayers are with you both.
This is a very difficult time for your household.
You have received some of the best advice right here.

My best to you.

Thoughts are with you and Spinny; it's a tough situation, some cats can handle lots of medical problems; some get really stressed, but you obviously love her and will know when it's time based on how she acts. My 19 year old is on my lap right now; I dread the day I have to make a decision on her but as her "servant" (she's the queen) you do what's best. My heart goes out to you both, good luck with everything. Toni

ok,
you know your love your cat (or you;re really an idiot) when
a) she bites you and you're glad
b) she pees all over you andy ou think, 'eh, whatever"
c) she i s handfed 2-3 x daily and you are happy to do it
d) all of the above.
we are in rehab--bug the cat --make the cat move--annoys the crap out of the cat, but she cannot atrophy --
her voice has weakened, i am not sure where this will go, the neurologist said give it a week--i will give it two.
she is not a happy cat, but she wasn't when i found her on a snowy harlem street corner.
again, thanks for all of your thoughts

Lori

I had a cat years ago that survived yeeaaarrrs after on his death bed from feline leukemia. I remember when he wouldn't eat cat food, I'd feed him chicken and beef baby food. That was one thing he'd eat. You might try that. Good luck.

Loria, You and Spinny are in my thoughts and prayers. As a "mom" to three older kitties (Misty, Bugsy and Mrs. O'Leary), my heart breaks when I know a kitty may be suffering. Take care of your baby.
