Passport Application Processing Times Has Increased

Post by Buddles »

hi,

For those of you who want to get a passport:

I'm a federal worker. We were just informed that processing times for passport applications have increased. Here is the State Department link for the new times: http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/pr ... _1740.html

I noticed that my processing time has increased when checking on line. My passport expired and I forgot to renew it  so I had to re apply. The site told me that it would arrive on or around 3/13 and then I check yesterday and it said 3/19.

As long as I have it by 4/12, I will be happy.

One of our friends found himself with more than 12 week processing time on a passport renewal. With help from his congressman he was able to get his passport expedited and received it the day of his departure. Give yourself some serious time.

Oooh, I need to check the kids. Their passports only last 5 years.

Cheers, Rick

Now I have a new thing to worry about. We just put our applications in on Friday and we are leaving June 8th. But, technically we don't need them except the fact that they have our birth certificates!

OMG! Mine has my maiden name on it and I've been married 7 years! It hadn't been a big deal in the past, I'd gone to Honduras and Mexico and shown my drivers license along with it. I'll expidite it. I don't want to be left behind on the BVI trip. Thank you Buddles.
