Isn't it interesting how NONE of the pictures in the slide show are of Chocolate Hole. Right now, the development looks like a Miami subdivision with McMansions on tiny lots, dropped between the nice rubble beach and the wonderful but distinctly un-glam pond. They claimed to be emulating Caneel. Not quite.
Although Caneel isn't emulating Caneel anymore, I'm afraid...they are certainly leaving behind the philosophy of blending in to the landscape, with new roofs now red, or white; and night-lighting increasing in area and intensity every year; and a confrontational attitude about National Park supervision or oversight of an of the property's natural and historic resources. Pity.

On a positive note, I see they announced about a month ago that Pond Bay will be managed by Auberge Resorts, which manages several small, distinctive, low-key, gorgeous resort properties (Auberge du Soleil in Napa, Rancho Valencia outside San Diego, and Esperanza in Cabo, for example). Personally, I see a huge difference between Pond Bay (which I think may be very nice when finished) and, say, Grande Bay (blight on the landscape). I do agree that they curiously don't feature Chocolate Hole much in their ads!

I didn't know Vicki was doing movies again
They do have photos of the construction site: http://www.foliocollection.com/#pb-construction
I'll admit that the end product looks nice and appealing. But as soemone who really used to love this quiet neighborhood area I am less than impressed on the impact this project will have on Choc Hole.
I guess that's why we're only staying in Coral Bay these days....

*Another fine scatterbrained production
This site does not load correctly for me. I can see the video of the endlessly swimming lady, but no slide show, and the top half of the display is cut off too.
Two comments on Pond Bay: In the model which is on display at the Marketplace, the Salt Pond behind the beach is portrayed with clear water and some sand. So, are they opening that salt pond to the ocean, or is that artistic license.
Also, I am still scared by the on-st. john video tour of the model unit with the toilet sitting near the bed with no wall or barrier. Someone said that was temporary, but the unit looked finished, and that would DEFINITELY be a dealbreaker for me.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
Anyone with a body like that should be shot.
Sorry Vicki.
I must represent my sistahs on the VIOL curves board (I'm not doin' too good right now).

I'm editing this...I don't want to get anyone upset. I am sure the girl worked very hard to get that perfect figure.
She should not be shot. But I hate her.

"Sponges grow in the ocean...I wonder how much deeper it would be if that didn't happen."
