Greenpan, do you know them?
Greenpan, do you know them?
For about 5 years ago I got new pots and pans, because we changed our stove to an induction.
Two of the pots are with Teflon, but the bottom is broken
, and I have read that Teflon is bad for one’s health. So I’m going to buy some new pots.
Yesterday I read an article in the newspaper about some new pots and pans with the name of Greenpan. They should be very good and without harmful materials. The price is very high - a saucepan costs 130 dollars, and a pan costs 140 dollars. But if they are as good as promised I’m ready to pay the price.
Today I have tried to find them in the town, where I live, but without any luck. In some stores they didn’t even know the name. So just now I have tried the Internet, and as I see it, I can buy them through Amazone to a much lower price - not the model “Dubai” , which is mentioned in the article, but some similar. But I will not buy them before I know something more about the quality.
The reviews I can find are very mixed.
Do any of you know them?

Linne,
I looked these products up on amazon (todd english has a line as does Martha stewart)
the reviews posted by users were 50/50 with half the folks really posting very negative reviews
http://www.amazon.com/Martha-Stewart-Co ... B0012GM19O
(scroll down and you will find the reviews)
This maybe a cheaper knock-off of what you are looking for though--

Linne, I'm not familiar with the Greenpan products but your comment about the price reminded me of a laugh I got once. I was in a store in line behind an older gentleman when he was purchasing a large Calphalon frying pan. When they told him the price he looked at me with an incredulous look and said "My first car cost less than that!" I got such a kick out of that. He bought it anyway, as a gift for someone. Sweet guy!

Thank you Loria and Waterguy. I "googled" Target and found the pans there too and also read the reviews in the link you send me Loria. It seems to be the same pots, as I have seen mentioned, but a much lower price. But I'm a little worried about the bad reviews. Even though they are much cheaper than in DK it's still much money to spend, and probably I have to pay a lot of money for the shipment. Also I don't know, if there can be any differences in the quality in the different models. So perhaps I have to wait and see, if some stores here will get them in the future (and pay nearly as much as for a car, chicagoans
).
BTW do you think you can buy them in an ordinary store in USA? Hubby is going on a business trip to USA in about two weeks, I'm not sure, if he will have the time, but perhaps he could try to find them.

Thank for your information SJ. As an ignorant Dane I thought that Target was something like Amazone.
Hubby will visit customers in some different bigger cities. But as I had a suspicion of, he has a very hard programme, and he doubt that he will have the time to look after pots and pans. But now he knows that he can ask for it in a Target. So perhaps.
But I still miss some opinions from the reliable forummembers about the product.
