Westin package question

Post by new york girl »

Does anyone know if the Westin will accept a package (scuba gear, suntan lotion and boxes of snacks my kids must have)? Has anyone ever done this and what address do I use? Our AA flight out of New York is now rescheduled for 7am instead of 8am and I am worried about checking bags. Seems easier to just carry everything on with us. Trip is for 7/26-8/2. Who knows maybe AA will change it again. Thanks so much.

On their website, they say that they have a fee for packages
Package Handling Policy
There is a package handling fee for all incoming and outbound packages. Please contact the hotel directly for the exact fee.
I don't know what the price is, but from the above its safe to assume that they do in fact accept packages. If you find out the price, I would love to know what it is.

NY Girl-- if the Westin tries to charge you an arm and a leg (anything over $20) for this servcie then I would consider just mailing it to Connections in Cruz Bay.

Just another option.
*Another fine scatterbrained production

Just to follow up on this topic, I emailed the hotel as I was curious about the fee (I may send down a box of stuff next time so we can do carry on) and they got back to me with the following info. Seems pretty reasonable:

PACKAGE HANDLING SERVICE OPTIONS

The hotel is pleased to accept and store all packages and shipment for our guests. All packages must be labeled with guest name and date of arrival. All packages are held in Mail Storage within the hotel, which is open 8.00 AM to 4.30 PM Monday through Saturday.

Package Handling Services are provided everyday between the hours of 8.00 AM to 6.30 PM. Please call 7004 for assistance.

Our preferred Courier for shipping out is USPS. You will only be required to fill out an Express Mail Label and a Customs form.

FedEx is also available but not recommended due to the strict paperwork involved for customs clearance. A FedEx Account number or credit card details are a requirement if this service is required. In addition, FedEx comes to the resort between Monday and Friday by 11.30 AM. The service is not available over the weekend and during public holidays.

Although we receive DHL and UPS we do not offer services for shipping out through the same.

Below is a summary of our Package Handling Fee structure for incoming and outgoing packages
Size Minimum Fee for all incoming packages
0 to 5 pounds $ 5.00 each
6 to 20 pounds $ 10.00 each
21 to 50 pounds $ 15.00 each
Over 50 $ 25.00 each
Crates TBD Due to variation in size, weight, and Delivery labor.
Pallets $ 75.00 each

Storage fees will be applied @ $25/day/item incase storage exceeds 7 days

Minimum Fee for all outgoing packages

$5.00 per package
