Aruba to STT

Post by don6934 »

Does anyone know how to travel from Aruba to STT??

We're doing some 2010 planning and would like to spend a week in Aruba and then go directly to St. John for our second week.

Thanks for your help.

There may not be anything that goes Aruba to SJU (let alone STT) without going back to the mainland first, so one way to look at it would be as 2 separate one way legs i.e. get yourself from Aruba to ATL on Delta, or to FLL on Spirit, or to MIA on AA, then see who goes to STT from there. There may be only certain days of week it would work and/or may have significant layover time etc. Good luck with that puzzle.

the "Problem" seems to be that because Aruba's a little out of the way, the small inter-Caribean carriers don't go there. Can't catch LIAT or Cape Air

there don't seem to be a whole lot of options out of Aruba that go "local" in the islands.

Looks like you're gonna have to go to ATL, MIA or FLL.

This assumes you're not up for "No Plane On Sunday" and taking about 5 hops up the island chain. Because, that could likely also be done.

You could take something called Aserca Airlines to Santo Domingo...then catch the Eagle to SJU and continue to STT.

OR...the same Aserca thing to Santo Domingo and then LIAT to Tortola/Beef Island and then ferry to StJ.

This one looks fun! Take Insel Air to Willemstad, Curacao. Take Insel to SJU, then to STT.

Yes...I may be a tad overtired and suffering from allergies. What makes you ask?

I’ve seen some indications on other Caribbean forums as to what that regional airline known as LIAT really stands for…

Thanks all, that's pretty much what we figured out. I was hoping to be able to fly from Aruba to San Juan and then to STT. Doesn't look like that's happening.

When we used to go to Aruba (annually before we found STJ), we always had a layover in San Juan on our way to Aruba (on American Airlines) from CT. I think you should call the airlines and ask. I wasn't aware that you good roundtrip via a different outgoing airport with return to an alternate airport, but you can. I'm sure they can hook you up. Good luck! Ali~
