Baked in the Sun.What kind of cake?
We will be having Chip's Birthday dinner at Zozo's and John suggested that I call Baked in the Sun. Has anyone had a cake from there? What kind should I order? He is not picky about his cake so I just want it to be yummy.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I recently was at a baby shower and we had a cake from Baked In The Sun which was delish. It had raspberry filing and buttercream frosting but was very light, so that would work.
I want to mention, though, that Chef Shaemus Mulcare is now doing cakes exclusively. Do you know him? He's very creative and fun and I bet you'd have a blast just planning Chip's cake with him, never mind eating the actual cake!
I saw Shaemus in the Post Office a few weeks ago and he was telling me about cakes he was making. He was into candy bars that week: Giant Twinkie Cake, Twix Bars Cakes (always two Twix), Snickers Bar Cake...But that was just one week.
His web page still reflects very traditional cake selections, but I know you and I know Shaemus and I bet you two could come up with something pretty memorable for Chip if you put your brilliant minds together! Here's his cakes page and all the contact info is there.

Have fun and save me a piece of cake!

Best Cakes Ever!
Baked In The Sun has the best cakes ever!
Two years ago, we had them bake our wedding cake that was out of this world! It was a bananna coconut cake with buttercream frosting. It was decorated with white chocolate seashells. Everyone raved about the freshness and the quality of the cake. I would highly recommend them for your event!

Didn't you post a picture of that cake? I've always thought about how beautiful it was. I think maybe even the prettiest cake I've ever seen!Saint wrote:Baked In The Sun has the best cakes ever!

Baked In The Sun Cakes
California Girl,
No, unfortunatley it wasn't me who posted the picture of the cake...but they are like works of art.
The white chocolate seashells on the cake were so gorgeous...almost too pretty to eat!
We are heading down in April to celebrate our 2nd anniversary and planning to get a little cake for our anniversay from Baked In The Sun!
