Auto insurance on island?
"STJ Take 2" looks like it might just happen for us! However, our auto insurance company no longer covers us outside of mainland USA. The credit card that we'll rent the car with covers everything but liability. Any suggestions how this all works? What do you do? Thanks for any info!

We have purchased CSA insurance but have been fortunate not to have had claims to file.
Hope it all works out for STJ Take 2.

Hi,
Check with your insurance carrier and see if you can add a coverage called "use of non owned vehicle". It would cover you while driving a rental vehicle. You can add for liab and phys damage. Just make sure it covers in US territories. It may not be an available coverage in your state. You could also place a liab only policy with a company that does cover outside the continental US and then cancel when you return. Be sure to ask if you cancel the policy do they pro rate cancel or short rate. If they short rate ask what the fees are.

CSA trip insurance will cover your island vehicle rental at a cost far less than what you would need to spend if you bought the insurance offered by the rental car company. You can get a free, no obligation quote by clicking on the CSA logo on the left - look over that way:
