Feedback on Fun and Contentment in Coral Bay?

Post by lovethecape »

I'm about to send our deposit check in for "Fun and Contentment" but wanted to get additional feedback on the villa. I've read a couple good reviews and one not so good. The villa, finished in 2008, is pretty well booked for the year and I think they would have issues worked out before we visit next year. Any input wold be appreciated!

Jorge stayed there. Maybe he'll reply or PM him. The ride up to it is fun!

Thanks bevm. I think we can handle the driveway. We've driven in St. John and Tortola (I think its worse than St. John) so it didn't look too bad. I'm just worried about its condition if it rains.

I did read Jorge's posts about the villa. It pretty well booked for this year so I hope people write reviews.

My wife and I stayed there for 2 weeks last year and had no problems.

I have read reviews since then and the road sounds like it was worse at that time. We didn't have a problem getting up or down when we were there. We also did not have the problems mentioned in the bad review. That doesn't mean they were incorrect, but that it wasn't that way when we were there.

We enjoyed our stay there. Great views, loved the hot tub at night watching stars, Not very long drive to our favorite beaches, etc...

Thanks Mit43. It looks as if the owners try hard to make it an enjoyable villa. After putting so much work into it, I would think they would try to address any issues by the time we are there. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and not make the drive up any worse.

I thought they changed the name to "Anger and Resentment"?

I can't imagine anything that could possibly be said "bad" about Fun and Contentment. We stayed there last summer and it was shear heaven!!! There are a couple of rough patches in the drive up. We had to use the 4-wheel drive on the Jeep, but we always made it up with no problems. If you are used to "city driving" only, then yes, it may be an adventure for you. But, this country girl enjoyed the ride...besides the villa is sooooo worth it. :)

We stayed in Fun and Contentment March08 and again this past Jan 09. We loved it there and will stay there again for sure. The first time you make the ride up the hill it is a little rough-but we learned to love it. All part of the adventure. All of us were able to drive it without a problem. Definetly need 4 wheel jeep. The view from the BIG deck is well worth the ride. House itself is great.. Feel free to ask any questions about the house. You will love it. Marcia

Thanks for the feedback Marsha. The house looks great and we are pretty easy to please. Did you happen to use the WIFI? My husband always seems to have work on vacation. I know you can't rely on these things on the islands but it would be great to know if it worked. Did you do laundry while there? Any problems with the water supply? We never rented a villa before and I guess they encourage you to conserve water. We are counting on doing laundry since we only pack carryons. Thanks for your help!
