Aruba "pictures report"
Aruba "pictures report"
Hello All- Just a quick "picture report" from our week vacation in Aruba. We were there 4/7-4/14 and stayed at a cheap Motel called the Mill, the mill is a pretty good budget option, they have a nice pool and a good location...not bad for 95$/night.
We rented a car for the week so we could motor around to the different beaches...
"official" trip report here....

We LOVE the beaches in Aruba, they have some very nice ones. One of my favorites (Arashi)was unfortunately getting remodeled while we were there...
It looks like it will have a handy parking lot area when finished...but basically closed while I was there
. We made quite a few visits to a place called Bugaloe Bar (http://www.bugaloe.com/content.php) this is a great bar, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and all the staff was friendly and professsional...great place!

We also really enjoyed dinner at a small restaurant called Wacky Wahoo's (http://www.grumblebears.com/wahoo/index.htm), awesome place to eat...I had pan fied grouper Aruban style with polenta, plantains, yellow carrots...it was excellent!

We also hid a half day ATV tour through the north side of the island (the wild/barren side)

with a refreshing stop at the Natural Pool (kinda like the bubbly pool, I think)...

An interesting local tradition was happening on Easter weekend while we were there...many of the locals go to the beach to live for the weekend, they camp out and live on the beach from good friday through easter Monday...interesting...

We didn't do the popular boat/snorkel trip this year but we got a few pics of one of the Malmok coast...

Most of all, Tracy and I enjoyed some quality time together alone without the worries and responsibilities of our normal, day to day lives...priceless!

Just a quick photo tour of our 2009 vacation in Aruba...
Peace- Jim & Tracy

I loved both STJ and AUA...I think STJ has much more natural beauty and Aruba has more nightlife and other conveniences. They both have their ups and downs...be very glad to visit either anytime!bevm wrote:That's a cool shot. I know the "Natural Bridge" collapsed from erosion.
So.. what's your preference? Aruba or St. John? I love the Aruba beaches but it's just too flat and desert-like for us.
