Thoughts on Tennis Villa & Cottage?
We are headed down for a wedding in November/December and we are looking for a house(s) that could accomodate a big group.
From the looks and sound of it, Tennis Villa and Cottage seems to fit the bill rather well. Its close to Cruz Bay, has 7 bedrooms (we will probably be 6 or 7 couples, maybe more), is reasonable and has other houses near by for other folks coming to the wedding.
Does anyone have any recent experiences with this house? Would love to hear any feedback, whether positive or negative.
Also, if anyone has any other suggestions of houses that can fit a large group that aren't too pricey, I would love to hear those as well.
Thanks for any thoughts you can provide.

I know folks who have rented both of these and they said they enjoyed it very much. They had no specific complaints that I know of. I've driven by this place on the way to other villas we've rented in the past and the only thing that bugged me was that I couldn't see how much parking was available.
I'd be sure to ask the villa co about the parking situation. With that many couples you're bound to want to have several vehicles for flexibility and transportation. So just be sure to ask about this.
The nice thing is these vilas are pretty close to Cruz Bay so getting to restaurants won't take much time at all.
Keep in mind though that Tennis Villa and cottage are located on Great Cruz bay pretty close to the Westin so you may get some ambient noise from the hotel but I doubt it would be too much.
You'd also be located in a pretty densely packed nice neighborhood. We liked that area. Nice properties-- although these days we prefer more peace and quiet and solitude over in Coral Bay.
I think for your purpsoes these two properties would work well.

We stayed there for our wedding 2 years ago. Everyone really enjoyed it! The only bad comment I would make - and it is very minor - was that the bathroom in the master bedroom was by default the one used by everyone when hanging out in the common space and by the pool. Not a huge issue, but the lack of privacy did get annoying sometimes
The villa & cottage were in great shape, and had everything we could have wanted and more. If you have any questions, I'll try to help.
Oh, we didn't notice any noise at all from the Westin.

We rented both properties in 2006. We had two couples and three children in the main house at Tennis Villa, one single adult in the pool house, and two couples and one single down at Tennis Cottage. We had three jeeps, with an occasional fourth stopping by, and we all parked on the Tennis Villa driveway, which is pretty large and has a loop at the end. We probably could have fit ten jeeps there, if ease of getting out wasn't a concern. Nobody parked in the Tennis Cottage lot, which is accessed by another road, but you could easily fit another two or three there.
The construction noise comment may have been referring to the Pond Bay Club, which both properties have a good view of. We never noticed much noise coming from the Westin. One night, we could hear some music from there, but it wasn't bothersome.

Friends of ours stayed at Tennis Cottage in Feb. There were two couples and a single. They liked the villa (cozy) and the pool, but the road and driveway are a little crazy. If you plan on parking there you definitely need four wheel drive. The road is not paved and the driveway is at such an angle that you have to back up to the house. The bedrooms have a/c but the master bedroom ceiling is open to the rest of the house so the a/c froze up a couple times because it was working too hard. The breeze was ok for the main living space but they really needed the a/c in the bedrooms. The main house has the living room, kitchen, deck, bedroom and bath. Then you walk out back to a separate cottage that has one bedroom and bath with outside shower. The couple that stayed there really liked their room. Then the third room is downstairs on the pool level. The view from the house is looking over salt pond and chocolate hole. They didn't say anything about the noise from the construction so it must not have been a problem. And they really need to cut back some of the brush because it blocks some of the view.
BTW - There is a resident cat there that you need to feed.

Good deodorizer for tennis shoes that have been left out in the rain? Left my tennis shoes on the front porch a couple of nights ago and they got soaked by a rain storm, the tennis shoes are dry now, but what a stink. Do I have to throw them away or is there something that will get the stink and dampness out on the inside? Home remedies welcome. Thanks.

How about this one - there are many other villas close by so just ask the rental company which ones
