My cat got his paw stuck in the garbage disposal
My cat got his paw stuck in the garbage disposal
I've had many cats and alot of different things happens, but this definetly wins the stupid cat of the year award.
I'm up early this morning and I'm rushing around because I have to get a MRI done at 7:30 A.M.
I hear my husband say "Connie, come here, you won't believe it". This doesn't sound good to me, just his voice. I say, "Is it good or bad" (I'm scared to go out there). He says "Lucy is stuck in the garbage disposal". Now, I'm thinking Lucy, who's about 8 mos is totally stuck DOWN the disposal, all of her.
I go out and she has her right paw stuck and I can't get it out. I can't get my hand down there with her paw in there. I try to gently pull...nothing. I pull again, she screams.
Husband says, "Let's call the plumber". I'm thinking...do you think I'm going to hold this cat for an hour or more before our plumber comes?
I tell him to get my nephew Kenny (skinny kid) and daughter (petite) up out of bed. I'm holding the cat, Glenn's running upstairs, cats screaming, I'm holding.
Daughter comes down, gets her hand down there and after about 5 LONG minutes, she gets him undone. Must of been one or two nails.
Now, how many times do you think you will hear that in your lifetime.
I've learned my lesson. ALWAYS make sure the stopper is in the sink.
What crazy things have your pets done?

I had a cat that loved to play with pony tail holders. One day we woke up and he was extremely sick. The vet finally figured out he had some kind of blockage and when he opened him up, there was the pony holder. We now have another cat that loves to play with pony holders, but he doesn't eat them, but every morning we find one or two in his food bowl.

We keep a bowl on the back porch filled with dried cat food. Every night a racoon was using the drain spout from the roof to the back deck to reach the bowl. Now I don't like buying the good stuff so some varmit can snarf it up. Went to the local rental store on Capitol Hill and got a Havaheart trap. It was set up and baited with cat food. I brought Spike in for the night because his feline brain is often overtaken by some unknown urges. He was up at 4:00am begging to go out. I came down to the kitchen at 6:00 to make coffee and opened the back door to check on the prospect of a captured racoon. No luck, but I did catch a fuzzy orange cat named Spike.Connie wrote:I've had many cats and alot of different things happens, but this definetly wins the stupid cat of the year award.![]()

I was almost afraid to read this...delighted that it had a happy ending. Hope you are OK too.
My husband and then young son took our cat to the large Blue Hills Reservation outside of Boston to walk in the woods with them; this cat had a history of doing very well on walks of that sort. Of course, this time he took off on his own and they couldn't find him. After driving 25 minutes back to our apartment near the Public Gardens and declaring that they had lost my cat...they were told that we would all go right back for my cat! We went back to where he was last seen; I called to him and "Satu" found me in just minutes, after being missing and alone there for about two hours. This "foolish people" story was never repeated.

... no longer a stranger to paradise
Wow, glad that turned out all right! When we had construction going on in our house one time we had one of the cats disappear into the new drywall-luckily we found her. After that we caged them when the work was going on-we didn't have an empty room that didn't have something going on unfortunately-one of them then rubbed so hard against the metal cage doors that he rubbed all the fur off his head.
Poor little guy was bald for quite some time.

I wear those orange ear plugs to bed. I got a great deal on a jar of 300 in the fall. I'm down to just a couple of pair and couldn't figure out where they were going.
When the snow melted, I found out. One of our dogs evidently has taken a culinary liking to my ear plugs, as there were hundreds in the potty area of the back yard.
Miss Lucy is doing well. She's always looking for trouble.
I also remember my cat Tiki. He loved to lay way up above the cabinets above the refrigerator. He loved to sleep there.
I was in the kitchen one day leaning up against the frige and who fell on top of me? Tiki, fell asleep and feel off.
I was actually glad that I was there to break her fall.

Cats beg too. I can have 3 cats sitting at my feet at one time when I'm eating. Not that I don't feed them, they just are curious and want to know what I'm eating.
I've also had a cat that's been able to sit, lay down, give me his paw, his other one and a high-five.
Cats are going to drive me crazy and it doesn't make it any better that I volunteer at a local cat shelter

My cat Greta loves to sit by the kitchen sink.We finally figured out that she was waiting for her spider friends. For some reason once she sees a spider someplace she never forgets to keep an eye out for her friend to return.
She's SOOOOOO smart
