Mafolie

Post by michele »

My husband and I have decided to extend our trip and stay on STT for a couple of nights before flying home. We are thinking about Hotel Mafolie. Has anyone stayed there? Any info would be helpful.

We stay there, normally annually, for 1-3 nights around our STJ stay.

We enjoy it a lot. It is very simple and basic. The road that runs right in front of the hotel does get pretty noisy after 7 am so if you like to sleep-in this might not be for you.

The pool area and pool bar is really nice. We like to be at the pool area while the cruise ships are leaving. Have a beer or rum & Coke and take in the great view.

I do recommend this hotel. They are nice people, the hotel is safe, and the view is awesome.

Good Luck! Have Fun!

Michele-Husband and I stayed at Mafolie in March for 2 nights after STJ. I posted a review in the STT villa section. We enjoyed our stay very much. The price was good-views were wonderful and the people friendly. I think the taxi from CA to Mafolie was 10 or $12 for the 2 of us. They offer free shuttle service to downtown, but you have to pay to get back up and it's not walkable. They also offer free shuttle service back/forth to Magen's Bay. We'd never been there before and it was really nice on a Sunday with a families BBQ'g etc. It's such a big beach it wasn't crowded at all. Rooms were decent and clean. Fridge was a nice plus and again, outstanding views. Good luck in your choice!

Deb and I used to stay there for a day or two before we went out on charter. We always enjoyed it and still eat there from time to time. It is clean and safe and the view speaks for itself. If you are going to be there for a couple of days I would rent a car. You don't need 4wd on St Thomas and you can get a car for around $50 a day if you check dependable or discount.
