St. Thomas Island Location info for rental condo
Evening;
We are looking to rent a condo unit on St. Thomas in Feb 2010. I am overwhelmed at the moment. We have been going to St. Martin for the last few years and always stay at the same place. I have no idea what is a good area, bad area, preferred - good beaches, bad beaches... crime, theft etc. Would really appreciate any input and general information on saffire beach, point pleasant, cowpet.
Thanks!!

I vote for Sapphire or Secret Harbor. I haven't actually stayed at either one but I live here and I frequent their beach and beach bar often.
They both have nice beaches, restaurants, bars, water toys for rent, close to Red Hook for fun evenings out, close to Smith Bay beach which is very beautiful! Have fun planning.

I second Secret Harbour. We stayed there last year for a few days and loved it. The location was close to Red Hook, but made you feel like you were secluded. We just wanted to lounge around for a few days before heading to St. John. Our studio beachfront was perfect and comfortable. We bought some groceries in Red Hook, went out for dinner at Duffy's, but then just stayed and ate dinner at the Blue Moon one night or the beach bar on site. Loved that we could get drinks from there if needed. It was honestly the most relaxed I have been in a long time. The snorkeling was wonderful too!

We are at Elysian right now as I speak... building X (thanks to whomever reccomended that...enjoying my first painkiller right now too.)
Aside from the water heater being broken and now leaking all over the bathroom floor...grrrrr...cold shower last night.... everything is wonderful. Staff is nice (keeping us supplied with fresh towels while the water heater keeps leaking even with the water turned off.) and the view is remarkable!
