Virgin Gorda Help
Hi folks - after 5 trips to St. John we have decided to give VG a try. It has not been easy to get information because there are no VG books equivalent to the St. John books, "Off the Beaten Path" and "Foot, Fins and 4-wheel drive". I am hoping that the friendly folks on this forum can answer some of my questions.
1. Where can we rent an inflatable-type dinghy? I read in somebody's trip report that Leverick rents dinghies that are "row-boats with engines".
2. If we find an inflatable dinghy where are good snorkle spots in the North Sound?
3. Where can we rent kayaks?
4. Is there any hiking besides Gorda Peak?
5. We are planning on taking the ferry to Anegada one day. If we only plan to spend time on two beaches there which ones should we choose? We are interested in snorkeling, if that helps define the best two.

I sent you a couple PMs that contained trip report info from others that address these questions. My picks for the 2 ANG beaches would be Loblolly and Cow Wreck. Currents while snorkeling can be challenging at both, and Cow Wreck has a great beach bar and Loblolly has a bar and good eats.

You may only have time for Loblolly and that end of the island. The snorkeling there is awesome, and a little further down the beach, at Flash of Beauty, there is ever more reef. Saw the biggest barracuda of my life there - it was so huge we thought it was a shark at first. Amazing beach -

Where are you staying? A number of houses at Mahoe had kayaks for use and I think Mango Bay did also.
I don't remember seeing rental places for inflatables or kayaks in Spanishtown or Leverick Bay.
All the boats at Leverick were indeed like row boats, small row boats.
As far as hiking goes, I could find information on any trail aside from Gorda Pike. A nice (long) walk could be done on the road, which is mostly dirt, that goes past Mango/Mahoe Bay, Nail Bay and up over the mountain.
