Ready for an off island adventure
We are a little more than a month away from our third trip to St. John. As lovely as it is, we are thinking of venturing off island this year to investigate the BVI. Looking for feedback on how to make the most of a day off island. Thanks!

Transportation to and from BVI will probably dictate how much we are able to do. Would like to have some beach time, a snorkel and soak up the local culture. Not sure we are willing to pay for a full private charter but definitely interested in recommendations for group charters/per person fee.
[/img]You could take the ferry to Virgin Gorda (only runs Thursday & Sunday). It's the cheapest way to get there and actually gets you the most time on the island. Also allows you to move about on your own, at your own pace, rather than as part of a group.
Get a taxi from the ferry dock to the Baths. Go through the caves, hang out and snorkel around Devils Bay. Go up to Mad Dog's for a drink. Have lunch at Top of the Baths. Take a taxi back to Spanish Town and poke around there for a while before catching the ferry back to STJ.

If it's a beautiful day with calm seas and you are fond of snorkeling then I would recommend choosing a day trip that combines the Baths (they really are something to see) with the Indians which is a dramatic and beautiful snorkel spot IMO with lunch and maybe one more snorkel stop. Have fun!

We took the "Stormy Petral" trip to the baths and the indians with lunch at Coopers Island, with Capt Rick and 1st Mate Amy. It was so much fun!! Rick and Amy are great and the Baths were cool. The Indians was the Most Amazing snorkeling I had ever done. Definetly try to fit it in you won't be disappointed....
