Anyone Know of Villa Mahr?

Post by VacationMom »

I searched, but can't find much on Villa Mahr, does anyone have info? I'm not looking for anything fancy just a place for a family of 6 to use as a base as we explore the island. It looks like it fits our needs, but it bothers me that I can't find info about it. Thanks!

Here is a map on their website...http://www.villamahr.com/html/contact_us.html#

It's a great location...you'll be close to northshore beaches and about 20-25 minutes to Cruz Bay and about 10 minutes to Coral Bay. Looks good to me :)

Villa Mahr

Post by SJM »

My family stayed at Villa Mahr earlier this year. We enjoyed ourselves very much. My comments are-
The location is very convenient- just up the hill from Island Blues
The owner spends the winter in the house next door. He was there when we had questions or needs but otherwise left us alone. Actually picked us up at the Airport in St Thomas since he was over there picking up supplies. He and his wife are very very nice.
The house had constant breezes and we never missed AC which is not availble in the upper unit.
House was very clean, comfortable and had everything that we needed but I would not call it a luxury home like so many other villas. The price is great and it is worth more.
The pool was well maintained but it was shaded in the afternoon which combined with the breezes made it cool for the adults.
In the upstairs unit the second bedroom is immediately off the master bedroom which was great for us since we had two small children but could be a problem for others since the access is through the master.
You could use the sofa bed in the screen in porch as another bedroom. This room was great and used almost daily for an afternoon nap. The Living room couch may also be a bed but not sure.
We rented a jeep from them as well which was very convenient.
The driveway is a little steep but not dangerous.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks - exactly the info I needed. Sounds like a great family house for us.
